Walmart will be selling more PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles today. The retailer will have limited quantities of the new consoles available to purchase online beginning at 3pm ET/12pm PT on Thursday, December 17. You’ll be able to purchase the consoles through the following links while supplies last: Walmart says customers who successfully manage to place a next-gen console order will have to wait until after Christmas to receive it....

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 3 Reloaded went live overnight, bringing with it a host of new content as part of its‘80s action heroes event featuring Rambo and Die Hard. Warzone’s Verdansk map has three new points of interest, the most imposing of which is Die Hard’s Nakatomi Plaza. Replacing the Broadcast Tower and the surrounding blocks that normally make up Downtown’s southern district, it’s the tallest single structure in the game, with five floors to explore and multiple optional missions playable in Battle Royale and Plunder....

The story of Watch Dogs Legion is being continued in an audible original series. Watch DogsTruth will pick up after the 2020 open-world game and feature some returning characters from the series. “Listeners of this thrilling story will once again join the fight for truth whilst guided by the self-aware AI, Bagley, as they make decisions at the end of each episode, with choices that shape the hacking collective’s next move, profoundly impact character relationships and ultimately, the success of the resistance effort,” reads the official description....

Over the past few years, Atari has been completely revamping its portfolio by releasing new takes on classic games like Missile Command, Centipede, and Asteroids. The latest project in this endeavor is Yars Rising, a new take on a name that – despite its success in 1982 – likely won’t engender many nostalgic feelings nowadays. The team at WayForward seems to have understood this from the jump, however, as Yars Rising isn’t a new take on the original game; it’s a full-fledged Metroidvania that happens to involve the old Yars gameplay once in a while....

Xbox is continuing discussions with Japanese game developers ‘big and small’ as it continues its search for studio acquisitions in the country. That’s according to a new report fromBloomberg, which states that several Japan-based game developers, “from small to big”, indicated that they had been approached byMicrosoftabout buying their businesses. The companies asked not to be identified as the talks were private, Bloomberg said, and declined to give details on how the discussions went....

Nintendo has pushed forward the release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. TheSwitchRPG sequel will now arrive on July 29, the game’s latest trailer revealed on Tuesday. When it was announced,Nintendohad saidMonolith Soft’s RPG would land in September. “Check out the latest trailer to learn more about the game’s story, characters, and strategic battle system, where you can team up with up to 7 characters,” Nintendo said on Tuesday. Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada says he left Namco for a year after the release of Tekken 4 because of stress due to the game’s reception. Tekken 4 was released in August 2001 in arcades and was then ported toPS2the following year, and while reviews weren’t overly negative they were certainly mixed – while IGN gave it a 9/10, for example, Edge magazine gave it a 6. On Monday one of Harada’s followers on X praised the game, calling it the “most authentic and adult Tekken ever released” and praising the introduction of interactive stages....

Horror comedy first-person shooter Killing Time is the latest game confirmed to be getting a remaster by retro specialist Nightdive Studios. The game was originally released on the 3DO in 1995, before getting aPCrelease in 1996. Now, nearly 30 years later, it’s getting remastered for modern platforms under the name Killing Time: Resurrected. The game puts players in the role of an Egyptology student, who finds themselves trapped in the large estate of a wealthy heiress called Tess Conway....

Paramount Pictures has reportedly greenlit a fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie, ahead of Sonic 3’s arrival in cinemas this weekend. According toVariety, Sonic 4 is in the planning stages and is anticipated to release in spring 2027. No plot details were shared.
