Sega has announced a new release date for the delayed PS5 version of Football Manager 2023. Originally scheduled to arrive alongside Football Manager 2023 games forPC/Mac,Xboxand mobile devices last November, the game will now be released forSony’s console on February 1. ThePS5version’s release will mark the long-running franchise’s debut on a home PlayStation console (the series previously appeared onPSPandVita). The Halo TV series will now air exclusively on streaming service Paramount+ when it launches in the first quarter of 2022. The director of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie has discussed his vision for the live-action adaptation. It was announced last month that the film will be helmed by Wes Ball, the director behind the Maze Runner trilogy and next year’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. And in an interview withEntertainment Weekly, Ball said his vision for the movie is inspired by the work of Studio Ghibli co-founder and Spirited Away director Hayao Miyazaki....

The ‘reimagining’ of popular ’90s platform game Zool is coming to PlayStation, after spending two years on PC. Zool Redimensioned was released onSteamin August 2021, having been developed by theSumo DigitalAcademy. Now publisherSecret Modehas announced that the game will be coming to PS4 on May 16, with some new party modes added. The original Zool was released by Gremlin Graphics in 1992 for the Amiga home computer, and was later ported to the SNES, Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear, Game Boy,PC,AtariST, Amiga CD32 and Acorn Archimedes....

Vicarious Visions employees were told this week that the studio would be losing its name as part of its merger with Blizzard. 2K has revealed the Top Spin 2K25 roster ahead of the game’s release next month. The game includes a selection of tennis greats from the past 50 years, as well as rising stars from the modern game, decked out in a variety of licensed apparel brands. There will be 25 players at launch, who are listed below, with more set to be released later. The launch line-up includes current stars such as Emma Raducanu, Coco Gauff, Frances Tiafoe, Iga Świątek and Carlos Alcaraz, and retired legends like Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe and Steffi Graf....

Ubisoft is facing a potential class action lawsuit for alleged illegal user data sharing. As reported byBloomberg Law, the class action complaint accuses theAssassin’s Creedpublisher of sharing personally identifiable information (PII) withFacebookcompany Meta. “Data sharing policies for a service or subscription is an important factor for individuals deciding whether to provide personal information to that service.” The complaint claims that this practice is a violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act, which was originally introduced in 1988 to prevent video rental stores from sharing a member’s PII, because it could “specifically tie the identity of an individual” to their purchase history....

Ubisoft has revealed a cloud computing technology that it claims will enable it to create brand new types of games. UbisoftStockholm’s managing director Patrick Bach, technical director Christian Holmqvist and CTO / technical director Per-Olof Romell discussed the tech, which is called Ubisoft Scalar, during aGDCpresentation on Thursday. They said it will allow Ubisoft to make bigger and more complex game worlds than ever before, that can be updated in real time and be populated by a giant number of players, creating new social experiences....

Unity will begin charging a royalty fee based on the number of times a game is installed using the Unity engine. Starting on July 26, 2025, the new Unity Runtime Fee will apply to games that meet a minimum revenue threshold and have passed a minimum lifetime install count. It will also vary based on the type of Unity subscription plan the developer has. The fee will apply to games made with Unity Personal and Unity Plus that have made $200,000 or more in the previous 12 months and have at least 200,000 lifetime installs....

Universal has released a video showing off the upcoming Super Nintendo World in Orlando. Featuring Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country, the attraction will open in the new theme park, UniversalEpicUniverse, in the summer of 2025. Universal Epic Universe will be the fourth theme park at Universal Orlando (along with Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay).
