A video showing as-yet-unannounced fighter Bryan Fury was reportedly posted on an official Instagram account beforeBandai Namcohad planned to. It’s expected that the announcement will be ‘officially’ made during the ongoing Combo Breaker fighting game tournament, the Tekken segment of which is being streamed by the officialBandai Namco EsportsYouTube channel....

Microsoft may have delayed the Forza Motorsport release date, it’s been claimed. Xboxannounced last June that the gamewould be released in the spring of 2023and said separately it was scheduled forrelease in the first half of the year. But during Wednesday’s Xbox andBethesdaDeveloper_Direct showcase,the latest update on the gameonly confirmed that it was still targeting a 2023 release, leading to speculation that it may have slipped. Following the show, Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubbsaidhe’d been told the game had been delayed until the second half of the year....

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will release Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC on August 7. ThePCversion ofGuerrilla Games’ open-world game will be available viaSteamand theEpic Games Store. Sonyhas also released a PC features trailer to coincide with today’s launch date announcement. It promises ultra-wide support, unlocked framerates, dynamic foliage, graphical customisation, improved reflections, and a benchmarking tool. Originally released in February 2017, the post-apocalyptic title has sold over 10 million copies....

Naughty Dog has detailed some of the features included in the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1. In a post on thePlayStation Blog, it was confirmed that the upcoming port will include numerous settings designed forPCplayers to get the most out of the game. These will include support for 21:9 Ultrawide and 32:9 Super Ultrawide aspect ratios. It will also feature support for the DualSense controller (via a wired connection) so that players can make use of the same haptic feedback and dynamic trigger functionality featured in thePS5version....

A new beat ’em up based on the Asterix comics is due for release later this year. Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! features hand-drawn 2D art, giving it a look similar to the popular comics and animated movies created by the French duo René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. Like the comics, the game is set in 50 BC, and has players controlling Asterix or Obelix (or both in co-op) as they travel to a variety of locations from the series as they fight the likes of Roman legionaries, pirates, brigands and Normans....

Quake II’s reported remaster is set to be released today, according to a reliable leaker. Billbil-kun, who has been accurately leaking game announcements and release dates for some time now, says the game will be released today at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST. They also say the game will cost $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99, but it’s not yet clear whether it will be called Quake II Remastered or Quake IIEnhanced (though a South Korean rating for a game called Quake II Enhanced was spotted byGematsuin June)....

The publisher of The Simpsons Hit & Run was offered a deal to make five more Simpsons video games but turned it down, its producer claims. In an interview withMinnMax, the game’s producer John Melchior was asked what happened to the planned Hit & Run 2 game, which was in the works at Radical Entertainment, who had developed the first game. Melchior explained that at least two Simpsons games were in development, and that that publisher Vivendi Universal Games was given the option to make five but rejected it....

Ubisoft has confirmed that its annual Ubisoft Forward presentation will not take place this year. Game File journalist Stephen Totilo posted onBlueskythat aUbisoftrepresentative confirmed to him that there would be no Ubisoft Forward this summer. Instead, the company will participate in otherSummer Game Festshows such as thePC GamingShow and IGN Live, as well as GamesCom in August. “We are always eager to connect with our players and showcase our games… We are continuing to explore opportunities to share updates, and we look forward to providing more information at a later date,” the representative told Totilo....

Three companies told the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that they believed Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard would harm competition. As part of itsinvestigation into the $69 billion deal, the CMA spoke to six third parties who are either existing competitors in console gaming or cloud gaming services, or potential competitors should the merger be approved. In a summary of the evidence it gathered from these meetings, the CMA revealed that half of the companies said they believed the merger would have a negative impact on competition, “including by affordingMicrosoftthe ability and incentive to foreclose potential and existing rivals in the console buy-to-play, console multi-game subscription and cloud gaming spaces”....

Ubisoft has announced plans to close the online services for more of its “older games” on July 01, 2025. The move will impact 10 games (listed in full below) including fourAssassin’s Creedtitles, as well as entries in the Ghost Recon,Splinter Celland Trials series. It means that owners of these games will no longer be able to play multiplayer, linkUbisoftaccounts in-game or use online features. Some of the titles impacted by the changes had their online services disabled on other platforms as part ofearlier “decommissioning” waves carried out by Ubisoft in 2022....

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has extended the deadline for its final decision on Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The regulator had been scheduled to deliver its ruling on the $69 billion merger by July 18, but will now do so by August 29. “The CMA considers that there is insufficient time remaining in the statutory period for full and proper consideration ofMicrosoft’s submission on the proposed Order,” the watchdog said....

Western Digital has announced a partnership with Sony to re-release one of its most popular PS5-compatible SSDs with official branding. The WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD was originally released in February 2021, and Western Digital stated in July 2021 thatit was compatible with the required specsneeded to expand the PS5’s internal SSD storage. Now the device is being rebranded the WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD for PS5 Consoles, and will come in new packaging that makes it look similar to other official PS5 peripherals....

On Tuesday the profile picture of thePCGame Pass account was changed, along with a cryptic message, which fans quickly noticedmatches a landscape shot that can be seen inDeath Stranding. While the PC version is published by 505, this wouldn’t be the first time aPlayStationStudio title has appeared on its rival service....
