Ahead of the launch of Lego Fortnite, Epic Games has announced that over 1200 in-game costumes have received free Lego variations. These costumes will be usable in the upcoming LegoFortnitemode, which will launch on December 7. PlayStation veteran Shawn Layden is leaving the company after three decades at the platform holder. Sony Interactive Entertainmentannounced the news via Twitter on Monday, but did not offer a reason for the departure or details on a successor. Layden’s most recent role atPlayStationwas chairman of Worldwide Studios. He was previously president and CEO of PlayStation’s American operation and has performed various roles since joining Sony in 1987. “It is with great emotion that we announce that Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden will be departing SIE,” reads thetweetfrom PlayStation....

PlayStation, Japanese streetwear brand SOPH and its imaginary team FC Real Bristol have teamed up for a new streetwear fashion collection based on football jerseys and training wear. The collection includes 28 pieces, which are availableonline, and in the brand’s flagship stores. At the time of writing, the football jerseys are currently sold out online, and are only available in stores that still carry stock. Pieces start from $180 for the jerseys, with prices for the track suit jackets coming in at around $320, depending on the design....

A playable prototype of a cancelled PlayStation 2 game has been found and shared online. Frank Gaskin ofGames That Weren’thas uploaded the prototype for The Last Job (also known as The Heist), a game that was once in development at Acclaim. The game was being developed at Acclaim’s Cheltenham studio, and was said to be around 40% complete when Acclaim went bankrupt and its projects were cancelled. According to Gaskin, the game was worked on by around 40 people for roughly a year, and was shown behind closed doors during E3 2004, which resulted in a small amount of press coverage....

Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a new Returnal trailer focused on various enemy types players will encounter in the PlayStation 5 exclusive. Developed by Resogun and Super Stardust studioHousemarque, the original sci-fi IP is a third-person roguelike shooter in which players take on the role of Selene, a deep space scout who crash lands on an unmapped world called Atropos. The latest trailer shows off a handful of hostile creatures players will face off against on Atropos,a world which changes each time Selene dies....

The long-term health of PlayStation 5 is reportedly under threat from scalpers, a new report has claimed. Sonywas already facing challenges satisfying demand for the product, but shortages have been exacerbated byscalpers reselling large quantities of the console at significant mark-ups, keeping it out of the hands of consumers and in turn damaging pivotal software sales. The knock-on effect is an unusually low software attach rate in Japan,Bloomberg reports. As noted by the publication, a healthy ratio for a new console is around one game sold for each console bought....

Rare has released a narrated version of its latest Everwild trailer and detailed some of the game’s setup. According to art director Ryan Stevenson, the player characters seen in the first twoEverwildtrailers are called Eternals, and they’re able to connect and interact with the various animals featured in the videos. Players can use the animals to interact with the environment, but they’ll also need to befriend them by sharing food or healing them....

Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian Games has confirmed it’s been acquired by Rockstar and said it’s excited to work on the GTA firm’s entertainment properties.
