A remake of Need for Speed: Most Wanted is coming next year, a voice actor has claimed. In a since-deleted social media post (which you may read below), Simone Bailly, who voiced a character in the original game, claimed that a remake is in the works and due to be released in 2024. In the post, Bailly taggedCriterion Games, seemingly suggesting theEAstudio is involved in the project. It’s worth noting that Bailly is likely referring to the 2005Need for Speed: Most Wanted (in which she appeared), not the version that was released in 2012....

BioWare has released a new cinematic that recaps the story of the antagonist in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The work-in-progress animation was shared as part of Dragon Age Day on Sunday, and is narrated by the series’ dwarf character Varric Tethras. In it, he tells the story of Solas, an elven mage from Dragon Age Inquisitor who will be the main villain and the titular Dreadwolf in the fourth game....

A second Fire Emblem game could launch this year, according to a recognised industry insider. Emily Rogers, who has a strong track record of accurateNintendoreporting, posted toFamiboardsthat she believes a second Fire Emblem title is currently in development atIntelligent Systems, and that it could launch this year. “I’ve mentioned before that this game is nearly finished with its development,” she wrote. “IS has had over 3+ years to develop this game, and they received assistance from a support studio....

A speedrunner used a live band to get around copyright issues while attempting a Crazy Taxi run. Near the end of this year’s Awesome Games Done Quick, speedrunner chuckles825 took on the Crazy Box mode in Crazy Taxi, which consists of 16 smaller timed challenges. While Crazy Taxi is well known for its soundtrack, which includes music by The Offspring and Bad Religion, it would have essentially been impossible to stream the game at Awesome Games Done Quick without triggering a DMCA takedown for copyrighted music....

A significant number of Activision Blizzard employees and players are petitioning for the company’s CEO Bobby Kotick to step downfollowing recent misconduct allegations. Astaff petitioncalling for Kotick’s resignation launched on Thursday and had been signed by over 1,300Activision Blizzardemployees at the time of publication. Game designer American McGee says he hopes EA will ask him to make the third game in the Alice series one day. Posting on Twitter after the announcement of aDead Spaceremake, McGee said he hoped that by taking Dead Space off the table of potential IP revivals, Alice would be more likely to make a comeback. “While I (and Alice fans) would have liked the next EA horror project to be a new Alice game, this does at least move us forward in line,” he claimed....

The founder and former president of Microsoft-owned Arkane Studios has criticised Game Pass, and claimed that it’s been “increasingly damaging” the industry. The classic Rare platformer Banjo-Kazooie will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online this week. Nintendoof America has announced in a tweet that the 1998 fan favourite will be added to the service’s Expansion Pack tier on January 20. This makes it the second new N64 title added to the Expansion Pack tier since its launch in October. It will follow N64’s Paper Mario, whichjoined the Switch Online Expansion Pack servicein December....

Nintendo will release amiibo for third-party characters Banjo-Kazooie and Terry next year, as well as a figure for Fire Emblem’s Byleth. Blizzard has seemingly leaked the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic release date.
