The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been delayed by “a few months”, co-publishers Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon announced on Monday. Microsoft has begun rolling out the new Xbox dashboard as part of its October update for Xbox One consoles. The newXboxUX will also be available forXbox Series X/Sat launch, and for Xbox Game Pass onPCand all Xbox mobile apps. On Xbox Series X, the home screen is said to load 50 percent faster when you boot the console and almost 30 percent faster when exiting a game, although it’s unclear if this is the case for current-gen consoles too....

The Pokémon anime will end the 25-year storyline of Ash and Pikachu’s journey next year. The Pokémon Companysaid on Friday that it will air 11 final episodes of Ash and Pikachu’s journey before beginning a new chapter in the long-running series. The final arc of the anime will begin on January 13. The new show, which will take place in the Paldea region fromPokémon Scarlet and Violet, will feature protagonists Riko and Roy....

The release date for Two Point Museum has been revealed by Sega. The third game in the Two Point series of humorous simulations will be released on March 4, onPS5,Xbox Series X/SandPC. The UK games market grew by 4.4% last year, according to trade body UKIE. The body’s new Consumer Market Valuation Report shows that the UK games consumer market value was £7.82 billion ($9.76 billion) in 2023, compared to £7.49 billion ($9.34 billion) in 2022. The report notes that game software sales increased by 4.1% to a total of £5.18 billion, of which less than 10% (around £495 million’s worth) were boxed software sales....

The UK government has been advised to regulate loot boxes under gambling law and ban them from sale to children. Following nine months of evidence gathering, the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Committee published its 84-page report on Wednesday into immersive and addictive technologies. The Football Manager series will be getting women’s football at some point in the future. SegaandSports Interactiveannounced today that work has started on “a multi-year project” that will eventually see women’s football added to the game. The companies stress that this will not mean a separate standalone women’s football game, or a separate mode in Football Manager. Instead, women’s leagues will be fully incorporated into the game, with players able to manager either men’s or women’s clubs and move between them throughout their career....
