Xbox Game Studios’ publishing team recently visited Kojima Productions for the first time to discuss their upcoming collaboration. Hideo Kojimaannounced last June that he hadteamed up with Xbox to work on a cloud-based projectwhich he described as a “never-before-seen concept”. Xbox Series X and S have cleared 100,000 consoles sold in Japan, putting the platform on course to clear the lifetime sales of Xbox One in just one year. According to the latestFamitsusales data,XboxSeries S sold 2,920 units and Xbox Series X sold 527 units during the week ended October 10. This brings the combined lifetime total sales to 102,591 (64,284 for Series X and 38,307 for Series S)....

The First Descendant is a fine game. It has fun shooting, it looks great and it moves along at a satisfying pace. It’s not too difficult, it’s not clumsy, it’s an enjoyable experience. You can watch 30 minutes of us playing it below and see a game that you can’t poke too many holes into from a bread-and-butter technical perspective. It’s also entirely broken my desire for live service shooters....

Concept art for a cancelled Scarface 2 game has emerged online. Posted by YouTube userMafia Game Videos,the screenshots, which have been released by former employees of Radical Entertainment, show off the Las Vegas strip as well as the surrounding Nevada Desert. Interestingly, the screenshots have seemingly been on the various artists’ Art Station pages for years, but have only now come to light thanks to this video. Rumors have circulated for some time about a remastered collection ofGod of Wartitles set for this year, timed for the franchise’s 20th anniversary. Now, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb has claimed that a new God of War “side-story project” set in Greece is coming this year. The first several entries in the series were set in Greece and focused on Greek mythology, before moving to Norse mythology with 2018’s God of War reboot....

A skater has claimed he will appear in an upcoming, unannounced Tony Hawk game remaster. Appearing on the Breakfast Club podcast, Skater Tyshawn Jones claimed that he will feature in a new video game in the dormant series. “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool,” Jones said. “They got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out, I was in the last one.” Tyshawn Jones appeared in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 despite being too young to feature in either of the original games....

Respawn has released two new trailers for Apex Legends season 3, which kicks off on Tuesday October 1. Titled Meltdown, season 3 will introduce a brand-new map calledWorld’s Edge, “where molten heat and chemical ice collide”, which is shown off in the gameplay trailer above. It will also include a new legend called Crypto and a fresh weapon, the Charge Rifle, plus additional skins and gear via the game’s latest battle pass....

Microsoft has announced April’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles. Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle (normally $22.49/£18.74) will then be available as a free download from April 16 to May 15. OnXbox 360, Fable Anniversary (normally $39.99/£29.99) will be free forXboxLive Gold members from April 1-15. And from April 16 until the end of the month,ToyboxTurbos (normally $9.99/£7.99) will be free to download. As part ofMarch’s Games with Gold line-up, members can download Batman: The Enemy Within – The Complete Season and Sonic Generations free until the end of this month, while Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is free until April 15....
