Nintendohad informed players back in May thatit planned to shut down Pac-Man 99 in October, and this has now happened. The massively multiplayer Pac-Man spin-off, which allowed up to 99 players to compete against each other, started to have its features gradually shut down from August, when the option to buy custom themes was removed....

PlayStation is set to announce a remake of a “big game” this Christmas, according to a musician who claims to be involved with its soundtrack. Sony has released the latest PlayStation 5 system software update. Version 24.05-09.60.00 introduces the ability to invite other players to game sessions by sharing a URL. Players can now also use Voice Command to open Game Help action cards by saying “Show Game Help”. Sonysaid it’s also improved system software performance and stability, as well as the messages and usability on some screens. PUBG Battlegrounds is now officially free-to-play as of today, its developer has confirmed. The game, which was previously named PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds before being renamed in August 2021, is now available to download and play free of charge. Every new player who downloads the game will start off with a Basic account, which gives them access to most of the game’s features. Psyonix has announced a new Rocket League game for mobile devices. Rocket LeagueSideswipe is a standalone, free-to-play title scheduled to launch worldwide forAndroidandiOSin 2021. In an announcement post,PsyonixsaidSideswipe retains the core, competitive gameplay of Rocket League but it is played from a new side-on perspective. Sega has helped to created a tool that uses AI to automatically generate monsters made out of voxels. The joint project was developed bySegaand Eques, an AI startup company that was formed at the University of Tokyo. It makes use of AI technology to let players describe the sort of monster they’re thinking of, which will then be generated. The monsters are be made of voxels, which are essentially 3D pixels made out of cubes, resulting in an art style that looks similar toMinecraft....
