Ubisoft has named the co-CEOs of its new Tencent-backed subsidiary, including current Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s son, Charlie Guillemot. The French publisherannounced the unnamed subsidiary, which is partly owned byTencentafter a €1.16 billion investment, earlier this year. The aim is for the subsidiary to overseeUbisoft’s three biggest IPs,Assassin’s Creed,Far Cry, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, and act autonomously from its parent. Unionised staff at Call of Duty studio Raven Software have filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board after claims that Activision and Microsoft are stalling over contract negotiations. Vampire Survivors’ developer says it’s had to abandon its plans to add cross-save to PlayStation consoles due to a “legal issue”. In January, the game’s developer and publisher Poncle stated that the upcoming version 1.13 patch would introduce cross-save “to everyone, on all platforms”, enabling players to save their game on one system and continue it on another. To activate cross-save, players will have to create an account on Poncle’s website, then log into it on each system....

Microsoft reportedly turned down a pitch that would have seen Halo’s Master Chief and Doom’s Doomslayer team up. According to the creators of the video game anthology series Secret Level, a pitch was made for an episode of the show to feature both Master Chief and the Doomslayer. However, it wasn’t approved by the license holder. Speaking toCollider, Secret Level creator Tim Miller said that he’d like fans to understand that if they’re wondering why a large franchise wasn’t featured, it’s likely that the creative team approached the rights holders and were turned down....

A new update for Horizon Zero Dawn has added a 60fps mode for PlayStation 5 users. Update 1.53 is out now and unlocks the frame rate so the game can now run at 60fps in backwards compatibility mode. It also removes the Graphics Mode option from the game when it’s running on a PS5, because the update makes it redundant. It also fixes streaming performance issues when the game is being played on aPlayStation 5....

Nintendo has announced a Switch OLED Mario Red Edition console. Confirming an earlier leak, the console was officially revealed during aNintendo Direct live streamon Thursday. It will launch on October 6, two weeks beforeSuper Mario Bros. Wonder, with a suggested retail price of $349.99. The system, its two Joy-Con controllers and theSwitchdock all sport the Mario red colour. Bandai Namco has announced plans to release a Tekken 8 demo this week. Fans will be able to sample the game when the demo hitsPlayStation 5on December 14, andXbox Series X/SandPC(Steam) on December 21. AEW wrestler Joe Seanoa, better known as Samoa Joe, will play Sweet Tooth in the upcoming Twisted Metal TV series.
