Nintendo has replaced a London Underground ad for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, days after it was found to have contained wrong information. On Friday it was discovered that a poster for Metroid Prime 4, spotted by VGC at Oxford Circus tube station in London, gives information on the game along with an ‘Out Now’ message. VGC took a photo of the poster, but also noted that a similarMario Kart Worldposter alongside featured the same ‘Out Now’ message....

Nintendo of Europe has launched its Black Friday sale online. Running until December 1, the Black Friday promotion includes savings on over 2,000 games, according to the platform holder. Nintendo has addressed a series of claims from accessory manufacturer Genki surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2. Over the last week, a deluge of images and claims have emerged from CES, which took place in Las Vegas. At the center of this is accessory maker Genki. The company reportedly showed what it claimed to be an accurate replicaof Nintendo’s next system. Representatives from the company also claimed to have a final unit of the system, and shared information about the as-yetunannounced system’s release date....

Nintendo Switch and FIFA 23 topped European games industry sales in 2022. That’s according to new data from retail monitor GSD, which has been published onGamesIndustry.biz. On the hardware front, 5.3 million consoles were sold in Europe last year, which was down 25% compared to 2021’s total. Switchwas the clear best-seller, despite registering a 15% decline over the year before.PS5comfortably secured second place even though its sales down were 35%, while sales of the third-placedXbox Series X/Swere up 4....

Universal Studios Japan’s updated mobile app has revealed a host of new details on the upcoming Super Nintendo World attraction, including a number of Donkey Kong-related assets. The assets, which include various collectables from the Donkey Kong Country series, as well as the titular apes themselves, come following a report thatUniversal has already started construction of a new Donkey Kong area. Last year images showing a 2016 concept model for SuperNintendoWorld first suggestedthe park was planning to add a Donkey Kong area....

Martha is Dead developer LKA stated last week that the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game would be censored, and VGC can now reveal exactly which scenes were changed. The edited scenes can be seen in full in our video below, which was captured on the uncutXbox Series Xversion of the game. We should note, however, that this videocontains extremely graphic scenes of mutilation. The nature of the video also means that it spoils certain scenes in the game, so anyone planning to buy the game may wish to wait until they’ve played through it....

One of Diablo 4’s rarest items has reportedly been found. Diablo 4features a select number of legendary items that have an incredibly small chance to drop, far smaller than that of traditional legendary items. These include the Harlequin Crest, an item touted byActivision Blizzardas one of the most difficult to find in the game. Now, it appears that it’s been found for the first time. Twitter user @NanamIzumi233 asked Adam Fletcher, Diablo 4’s global community director if the drop was legitimate....

The head of Palworld developer Pocketpair’s new publishing arm warns that its first batch of games are nothing like Palworld. Following the enormous success ofPalworld, which wasplayed by more than 32 million playersin its first year, developer Pocketpair announced in January that it was launching a publishing division called Pocketpair Publishing. While the publisher has yet to reveal its first game, it appears the announcement is imminent, with its official X account writing “we should probably announce a game soon” today, followed by an emoji of eyes staring....

Steam’s newest hit survival game, Palworld, has been accused of plagiarising designs from Pokémon, as social media users negatively highlight its creator’s historical association with generative AI tools. Nintendo has announced an HD remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The remaster will be released in 2024, two decades after the game was originally released on theGameCube. The Thousand-Year Door has a cult following among fans, many of whom believe it’s the best RPG in the Mario series. The game has Mario trying to rescue Peach from a group of aliens called the X-Nauts. “Turn the page and join Mario and friends in an RPG adventure to discover the legendary treasure behind the ancient Thousand-Year Door,” readsNintendo‘s description of the game....

Paper Mario’s producer has explained how the modern game balances RPG and adventure elements. Speaking to VGC inan interview exploring the making of Paper Mario: The Origami King,Nintendo’sKensuke Tanabesaid that he feels it’s “difficult” to satisfy fans looking for a pure RPG approach, like that featured in the series’ early instalments. The latest instalment introduces new elements such as the ring-based battle system and associated boss fights, which Tanabe said he believes will appeal to core users....

Atlus’ RPG classic Persona 4 Golden has been released for PC via Steam. The release marks the first time the Persona series has been released forPC, after being restricted solely toPlayStationplatforms. Originally released for PSVita in 2012, Persona 4 Golden is an expanded version of the original Persona 4, which was released onPS2in 2008.
