Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have released a statement addressing the leak of a developer build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Videos of the unfinished build, which is said to be playable from start to finish, started circulating on social media this week after it wasrecently uploaded to a torrent site. In a statement released on Tuesday, developer Saber and publisher Focus thanked fans for their support, and urged players to avoid the leaked build ahead of the game’s official release....

The creator of the Kingdom Hearts series has shared fresh information about Kingdom Hearts 4 and its realistic new setting. In an interview withFamitsu,Tetsuya Nomurawas asked about Quadratum, the new world where the game is set. Quadratum looks like the real world, andthe debut trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4shows sections that look like Shibuya in Tokyo. However, as the trailer explains, Quadratum isn’t the real world but is “similar to an afterworld”....

Some third-party publishers are reportedly expressing doubts about continuing to support Xbox consoles amid “flatlining” sales in Europe. That’s according toGamesIndustry.bizhead Chris Dring, who said his takeaway fromGDClast week was that he thinks “Xboxis in real trouble as a hardware manufacturer”. “The other thing I heard—I heard it from a very prominent company and one not so prominent—was Xbox’s performance in Europe is just flatlining”, he said. “you’re able to follow our monthly coverage in the games market and you can see that Xbox sales are falling, and it’s been falling all throughout last year and it’s falling even harder this year....

Sega has officially confirmed that the new Sonic game will be called Sonic Frontiers. The game will be released in holiday 2022 onXbox Series X/S,Xbox One,PS5,PS4,SwitchandPC. As well as the official game reveal,Segarevealed a new trailer showing off a new cinematic. Sony has announced February 2024’s PlayStation Plus Essential games. The games includeFoamstars, which will launch onPlayStationPlus for bothPS4andPS5, Rollerdrome, also for PS4 and PS5, and Steelrising, which will be available for PS5. Square Enix has announced that a new Octopath Traveler game is set for release later this year. Square Enix is due to have some sort of presence at E3 2021, its president has confirmed. Speaking in an interview withNikkei(Japanese),Yosuke Matsudawas asked whichSquare Enixtitles he was looking forward to in 2021. “Outriders, the release of which was postponed, was released on April 1,” Matsuda replied, “and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… will also be released in April. In addition,Final Fantasy VII RemakeIntergrade will be released in June. “We’ll be announcing the rest of the line-up [later], and we’re also planning to make an announcement at E3 in June, so please keep your eyes peeled....

Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu has said he hopes to boost profitability by revitalising the company’s high definition games segment. The Japanese publisher divides its digital entertainment business into three units: HD games, MMOs, and games for smart devices or browser-based titles. During a Q&A session held at the beginning of August (a transcript of which has today been uploaded toSquare Enix’s investor relations website), Kiryu said the company was “currently examining” its HD games pipeline....

Steam games disclosing the use of generative AI have increased by 800% so far this year. That’s according to an analysis of generative AI games onSteambyTotally Human, which suggests that nearly 8,000 titles released on Steam now disclose GenAI usage, compared to 1,000 a year ago. That’s 7% of the total Steam library, and 20% of all games released so far in 2025. It’s worth noting that although Steam requires games that use generative AI in their development to disclose the use, such disclosures are voluntary, so the actual number of games created using GenAI is likely higher than the 8,000 figure....

Insomniac Games has released new Spider-Man Miles Morales PS5 footage showing off one of the hero’s companions, a cat who’s part an unlockable suit. According to an in-depth preview of the title in the latest issue ofGame Informer, the cat—which is also namedSpider-Man—was stolen during a convenience store robbery. Miles sets out on a mission to retrieve it from the perpetrators, who are located at a power station, before returning it to its owner....
