The first extensive gameplay video has been released for The Blood of Dawnwalker, the new RPG from a group of lead developers behind The Witcher 3. Developed by new Polish studio Rebel Wolves, and published byBandai Namco, The Blood of Dawnwalker is described as “a single-player open-world dark fantasy action-RPG with a strong focus on story and narrative”. The new 20-minute gameplay video premiered on Saturday shows extensive gameplay for the first time, as protagonist Coen explores a town, battling bandits, enhancing his skills and eventually, transforming into a vampire....

The CEO and president of Warner Bros Discovery has singled out Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as the reason for underwhelming Q1 results for its entire Studios division. During a financial presentation, David Zaslav said the Studios division – which includesWarner BrosPictures, DC, Warner Bros Television Group, Warner Bros Games and New Line Cinema – saw a decrease in revenues compared to the previous year. Zaslav said this was mainly down to the difference between the successful release ofHogwarts Legacylast year and the “disappointing” release of the Suicide Squad game....

Xbox will hold a half-hour live stream event dedicated to Age of Empires next month. The Age of Empires fan preview will take place on Saturday, April 10 and offer a new look at Age of Empires IV gameplay, including details on civilizations and the game’s campaign. Xbox has brought back its Design Lab service, which allows players to customise their own controllers. The Design Lab was originally launched in 2016 so that players could create their ownXbox Onecontrollers. The service was stopped in October 2020, however, withMicrosoftstating that it was “offline temporarily so that we can bring you some updates”. Design Lab is now back today, and has been updated to supportXbox Series Xand S controllers....

Xbox will hold a number of livestreams on Monday to celebrate the launch of Xbox Series X and S, culminating with a “spectacular holographic display” in London. Microsoft has said it’s investigating issues preventing some Xbox Game Pass players from accessing the newly launched CrossfireX campaign. CrossfireX was released exclusively forXbox Series X/SandXbox Onetoday. It includes a free-to-play multiplayer mode created by Crossfire’s core developer Smilegate, while Alan Wake andControldeveloperRemedyhas created the game’s single-player offering. The game’s campaign is split into two parts, Operation Catalyst and Operation Spectre. While the first part, Catalyst, is free forXboxGame Pass members, Spectre is available as a paid add-on....

Microsoft has announced the latest special edition Xbox controller. Following a recent leakthat confirmed the upcoming controller’s name, the company officially revealed the Ghost Cipher Special EditionXboxWirelessController on Tuesday. Pictured above, it has a transparent grey design, allowing players to see the controller’s inner workings, rubberised back grips, and bronze metallic D-pad and triggers. Priced at $69.99 / £64.99, it’s available to pre-order now ahead of its launch on Aug 02, 2025....

Xbox has signed up Marvel’s Avengers and Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics to help develop its Perfect Dark reboot. In a statement published on social media,Xbox’s newThe Initiativestudio – which itself is led by the former studio head ofCrystal Dynamics– said the Rise of the Tomb Raider developer would be partnering with it onPerfect Dark. The person in charge of the Perfect Dark project, game director Daniel Neuburger, was also previously game director on the Tomb Raider series....

Nintendo has released a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The trailer opens by showing some of the game’s locations, including Gerudo Desert, Jabul Waters, Eldin Volcano and Faron Wetlands. It then shows off the game’s Adventure Log, and how main and side quests are saved to it as they’re encountered. Other features shown in the trailer include quick-travel waypoints and the ability to ride a horse....

A Crash Bandicoot 4 demo will be released next week for PlayStation 4 players who pre-order the game digitally. Launching on September 16, the demo will feature two levels from the middle of the game: Snow Way Out and Dino Dash. Players will also get to play an “alternate timeline path”—which is akin to the secret levels in previous Crash games—of Snow Way Out from the perspective of Dr. Neo Cortex....

Sony appears to be rolling out its first revision of the PlayStation 5 hardware. A new version of thePS5Digital Edition console detailed in an official Japaneseproductmanualshows that the updated hardware model (CFI-1100B) weighs 3.6kg, which is 300g less than the launch version (CFI-1000B). The revised hardware also appears to include a different screw used to attach the console’s stand, as shown in the comparison images below (viaResetera). The new PS5 model has already been listed on the websites of some Japanese retailers, who willreportedlybe offering the updated hardware as part of their next lottery sales....
