Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to receive a new, free update named Tombs of the Fallen next week. As part of the game’s roadmap for 2021, the publisher revealed four pieces of content coming to the game before the end of the year. The first is Title Update 1.4.0, which releases the same day as Tombs of the Fallen on November 9. The Oskoreia Festival, which is being described as a “Free Time-Limited Event” will run between November 11 and December 2....

Developer Crytek has confirmed that remasters of Crysis 2 and 3 will release for consoles and PC this fall / autumn. TheCrysis RemasteredTrilogy will feature single-player remasters of Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3, optimized in partnership withSaber Interactive. The games are planned for release on PlayStaion,Xbox,Nintendo Switchand forPC, with the game “playing even smoother on next gen PS5 andXbox Series X/S,” according toCrytek. The remaster of the original Crysis game releasedlast year, and Crytek has confirmed that the Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will also be made available separately outside of the “Trilogy”....

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has blown past its all-time concurrent player count following the announcement of Counter-Strike 2. According to independentSteamtrackerSteamDB,the game attracted 1,507,212 on March 25, smashing its previous all-time player count by around 100,000 players. Interest in the game has exploded following the confirmation of Counter Strike 2, the next entry in Vavle’sPCshooter franchise, which looks to launch this summer. Often Steam’s most played game on a regular week, the increased interest has seen the game reach almost 3x that of the second most played game on the platform,Dota 2, which reached 667,348 players during the same time period....

Cult 2005 first-person shooter Boiling Point: Road to Hell is getting a re-release. Originally developed by Deep Shadows and released onPCbyAtari, the game has been made playable for modern set-ups and will be released onSteamandGOGon November 14. The game is known for being one of the earlier examples of the open-world FPS genre, releasing a year afterFar Cry. It’s set in Realia, an open world with a 25km x 25km map, in which players can make use of cars, planes and boats to get around with no loading times....

CD Projekt Red has added an epilepsy warning at the beginning of Cyberpunk 2077 after it came to light that the game includes triggers which can cause seizures in vulnerable people. Earlier this week, Game Informer’s Liana Ruppertsaidshe suffered one major seizure and felt several moments where she was close to another one while playingCyberpunk 2077, due to various in-game visual effects. At release, Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t carry an in-game epilepsy warning and it’s not clear how the offending scenes passed through platform holders’ certification processes....

Diablo Immortal has been released over a day early for mobile, Blizzard has confirmed. While both the mobile andPC(open beta) versions of the game aren’tofficially scheduled to be released until June 2, the former has started rolling out early in some regions via theApp StoreandGoogle Play. The game’s official launch time on both mobile and PC is still June 2 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST....

Double Fine will release 3D action rogue-like, RAD on August 20, the developer announced on Monday. The game, which is set in a post-post-apocalyptic world, where humanity has faced Armageddon “not once, but twice,” will release forPC(viaSteam),Nintendo Switch,PS4andXbox One. Players will take on the role of a teenage protagonist who must venture into the Fallow — an ever-changing, radioactive wasteland filled with unknown creatures. It’s here that they’ll find the solution to heal the world and transform the barren landscape....

EA’s Skate reboot will require an online connection to play, its developer has confirmed while reaffirming a 2025 early access launch window. Skate developer Full Circle has launched a new series of developer blogs, named The Grind. These blogs include Q&As with the development time, during which the developer confirmed that the upcoming reboot of Skate is due for early access launch this year. “We are still planning on launching in Early Access later this year,” theblogreads....

Embracer Group’s ongoing restructuring resulted in 900 employees being let go during its second quarter ended in September. The company announced in June that it was implementinga restructuring planwhich would involve the closure of studios and the cancellation of projects. It has since shut studios likeSaints Row developer Volitionand Campfire Cabal, while others have reportedlybeen put up for sale, such asBorderlandsmakerGearbox. Embracerhas also made layoffs at companies including Gearbox Publishing, Tomb Raider makerCrystal Dynamics, Knights of the Old Republic remake studioBeamdog, and Pinball FX makerZen Studios, among others....

Of all the surprises Nintendo has delivered over the course of the Switch’s life, it’s fair to say the resurrection of the Famicom Detective Club was among the least expected. The decision to remake the first two games may not have been the most seismic announcement in terms of its impact on the gaming community, but the fact thatNintendotook two Japan-only visual novels from 1988 and 1989, localised them and re-released them in 2021 was a huge deal as far as gestures go....

Epic Games has launched Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 5: Zero Point. The game wrapped up its Marvel-themed Chapter 2 – Season 4 on Tuesday witha fight against planet consumer Galactusin a live event which attracted a record 15.3 million concurrent players, according toEpic. Aided by the likes of Iron Man and Thor, the season finale saw players piloting explosive-filled battle busses into the mouth of Galactus, who was on a mission to eat the Zero Point....

The next Forza Horizon 4 expansion is a Lego-themed world which will be released this Thursday, June 13. Lego Speed Champions is the second of two planned DLC expansions for the game, following the Fortune Island add-on released in December 2018. It will feature a Lego-themed world and let players race in Lego versions of iconic cars like the McLaren Senna, Ferrari F40 Competizione and 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally....
