Saros, the next game from Housemarque, has been announced. The game stars Rahul Kohli and will continueReturnal‘s theme of sci-fi action, but the games don’t appear to be connected narratively. A trailer for the game can be viewed below. Sega has filed a trademark for Yakuza Wars. As spotted byGematsu, the trademark was published in Japan today. Its filing category suggests the name will be used in a video game product of some sort, rather than any ofSega‘s other enterprises. It’s not clear, however, whether it will be the title (or subtitle) of an upcoming game in the Like a Dragon series. Like a Dragon used to be known asYakuzain the west until Sega seemingly decided to drop the name in favour of Like a Dragon, the literal translation of the Ryo Ga Gotoku name the series has always had in Japan....

September’s PlayStation Now games have been announced, including Tekken 7 and Final Fantasy VII. Starting tomorrow, September 7, both titles will be available on the service, along with Killing Floor 2, Windbound, Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Definitive Edition and Moonlighter.Tekken 7will be available until August 01, 2025, while the other titles do not have removal dates. Last month,PlayStation Now addedNier: Automata, Undertale and Ghostrunner. PlayStationNow’s software library includes over 700PS2,PS3andPS4games streamable toPS5, PS4 orPC, and over 300 PS4 titles which can be downloaded and played on consoles....

Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake will feature a rebuilt combat system and run on Unreal Engine 5, it’s been revealed. “With a new perspective, we’re rebuilding the combat system and certain set-pieces, among other things,” read aPlayStationBlog byKonamiproducerMotoi Okamoto. “Now that you see basically what James can see, we could find new ways to keep the player on edge.” Also in the post on thePlayStation Blog, Konami revealed further details, such as that the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5 and use its Lumen and Nanite technologies....

PlayStation has announced it’s working on a “next-generation VR system” designed for PlayStation 5. Sony’s next iterationPlayStationVR headset will feature “dramatic leaps in performance and interactivity,” it said in an announcement on Tuesday, and allow players to feel “an even greater sense of presence and become even more immersed in their game worlds”. The headset, which will launch beyond 2021, will feature improved resolution, field of view tracking and utilise a new VR controller,Sony Interactive Entertainment’s platform planning SVP Hideaki Nishinowrote....

PlayStation parent company Sony has donated $2 million towards humanitarian aid for those affected by the Israel-Gaza conflict. Sonysaid it had donated the money to the Japanese Red Cross Society and the United Nations Children’s Fund. Additionally, it said various Sony Group companies are running programmes matching donations made by employees to non-profit organisations. Devolver Digitalhas also made an unspecified donation to support Palestinians impacted by the current hostilities....

Sony Interactive Entertainment has quietly updated its PlayStation 5 packaging to remove mention of 8K support. It’s unclear precisely when the new packaging was rolled out, but the company launched thePS5Slim model last November with 8K still emblazoned on the product’s box (pictured above). While retailers likeAmazonand Walmart are still listing PS5 consoles with the old packaging, none of the various PS5 boxes pictured onSony’sPlayStationDirect store still carry the 8K claim....

PlayStation’s recently delisted first person shooter Concord reportedly cost $400 million to develop. That’s according toPlayStationpodcast Sacred Symbols, which claims that the game, which wasrecently taken offline by PlayStationafter just two weeks on sale, was referred to as “the future of PlayStation,” internally. Sonyoffered refunds to all players who purchased the game. Insomniac Games released the firstMarvel’s Spider-Man Remastered gameplay footageon Wednesday, showing the PS5 game running using an optional performance mode which targets 60fps. Steam pages will now disclose which games use AI-generated content. Valvehaspublishednew guidelines for developers looking to release games on the platform, including new rules regarding the use of AI-generated content, specifically targeting copyright-infringing material. “We are updating the Content Survey that developers fill out when submitting toSteam. The survey now includes a new AI disclosure section, where you’ll need to describe how you are using AI in the development and execution of your game,” reads a post on Steam....

Game streaming platform Streamlabs has released an official plugin for Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). Until now, Streamlabs and OBS have offered two separate streaming solutions, each with their own pros and cons. While OBS has a lower CPU usage and has extra flexibility because of its open-source nature, it’s considered by some to be a little difficult for newcomers to get used to its interface. Streamlabs, meanwhile, offers a more user-friendly streaming platform, with built-in features like notifications, widgets, monetisation and built-in chat....

Goichi Suda, aka Suda51, has said he would love to cast Ryan Gosling as Travis Touchdown in a No More Heroes movie. In an interview withShacknews, theGrasshopper Manufacturefounder and CEO was asked who he’d like to see involved in a theoretical movie based on the studio’s most successful series, No More Heroes. “[For Travis Touchdown,] I’d probably go with Ryan Gosling,” Suda answered. “And as director, I’d probably go with James Gunn....
