EA has announced that it will finally officially reveal Battlefield 6 on Thursday, following months of beta leaks. DICE has announced plans to delist Mirror’s Edge and several Battlefield games. “As we close in on 15 years since the release of Battlefield 1943, and Bad Company 1 & 2 and Mirror’s Edge, we are announcing that their journey is coming to an end,” theEAstudiowrotein a blog published on Tuesday. The games will be removed from digital storefronts on April 28, and online services for the titles will be closed on December 8....

The Sims 5 will be “free to download”, Electronic Arts has confirmed. The next-gen Sims game, which is officially codenamed Project Rene,was announced last October. EAsaid at the time that it would feature both solo and multiplayer gameplay, while offering the same experience across all supported devices including mobile. A job advert briefly published online this summerdescribed Project Rene as a “free-to-enter” game– something which Lyndsay Pearson, VP of franchise creative for The Sims at developer Maxis Studios, confirmed on Tuesday....

Nintendo has confirmed that both Earthbound and Earthbound Beginnings will be coming to Switch Online today. Earthbound is a cult favourite amongNintendofans, and has previously been released on past Virtual Console services. Earthbound Beginnings is a western translation of Mother, the Famicom predecessor to Earthbound. Although the game was originally Japan-only, the English language translation was released on theWii U. Mother (now known in the west as Earthbound Beginnings) was originally released on the Famicom in 1989 and tells the story of Ninten, a 12-year-old who uses psyhich powers to fight inanimate objects....

Bandai Namco and From Software have released the debut trailer for Elden Ring‘s highly anticipated expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. Viewable below, the trailer also confirms that the DLC will be released on Aug 02, 2025, forPS5,PS4,Xbox One,Xbox Series X/SandPCviaSteam. According to its official website, the expansion will introduce a new story, a new world and deeper RPG features. Epic Games Publishing has revealed End of Abyss, an “atmospheric action-adventure game set in a dark sci-fi world”. Developed by Swedish studio Section 9 Interactive, End of Abyss is described as having “an emphasis on exploration, supported by engaging and tense combat”. “In the depths of a mysterious underground compound, a mission to investigate disturbances of unknown origin spirals into a harrowing descent through a broken and abandoned world,”Epic‘s description reads....

The Epic Games store’s October update redesigns the storefront experience to simplify finding games on the site. The digital marketplace, which currently houses 187 games, now lets users see what’s trending and filter by genre, while the ‘discover’ tab includes sections for new releases, free games, top sellers and other categories. Epicalsosaysit’s optimised the storefront to better handle high traffic periods, such as when new free games are released....

Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s street date has reportedly been broken over a week before its official release. Photos of copies of the game in the wild were shared onResetEraon Wednesday, before many were taken down. Rocket League players have reacted with anger to news that they soon won’t be able to trade items with other players. An announcement made by developerPsyonixrevealed that on December 5, the player-to-player trading functionality in the game will be removed. According to Psyonix, the change is being made to bringRocket Leaguein line with other games published by parent companyEpic Games, which also don’t allow trading of in-game items. “We’re making this change to align with Epic’s overall approach to game cosmetics and item shop policies, where items aren’t tradable, transferrable, or sellable,” the studio explained....
