The Lego Group is bringing its video game development efforts in-house. The Danish toymaking giant has lent its name to decades of video game products, but the vast majority of these have been developed in collaboration with third-party studios and not by Lego itself. Now, the firm behind the globally successful building kits has said it wants to start to bring video game development in-house, though it’s unclear if this spells the end of Lego’s collaborative efforts with other game makers....

The producer of the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw remake has taken to Twitter to try and reassure fans who are concerned about proposed changes that will be implemented. Former Kadokawa Games CEO Yoshimi Yasuda left in May to form a new company calledDragami Games. Yasuda then announced earlier this month that one of the company’s first projects will be a remake of cult action game Lollipop Chainsaw. However, aspects of the announcement – including that it would have a new soundtrack, a “more realistic” art design and would have no involvement by creative directorSuda51nor co-writer James Gunn– left some fans worried....

Microsoft’s long-running $1 trial offer for Xbox Game Pass has officially ended. The offer, which had been running for a number of years, let players try outXboxGame Pass, Game Pass Ultimate orPCGame Pass for a month for $1. More than 70 Guerrilla Games developers worked on Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding, the game’s credits reveal. Death StrandingusesGuerrilla’s Decima game engine – the same tech behindPS4exclusiveHorizon Zero Dawn– and it was known some support from the Killzone creator would be required during development. When the engine collaboration was announced in 2016,Kojima Productionssaid it had established a satellite team at Guerilla’s Amsterdam HQ to offer ‘technical support’ to the game’s Japanese development team....

Ubisoft is rolling out a Watch Dogs Legion update on Monday to prepare the game for the launch of its online mode this week. Lego has officially unveiled its Pac-Man Arcade set, which will be available from next month. As first revealed inleaked images, the set allows users to recreate the top of a Pac-Man arcade machine. In addition, builders can create large brick versions of Pac-Man, Blink and Clyde that can be displayed on top of the cabinet or separately. Once complete, builders can light up the coin slot, plus there is a small vignette of a minifigure playing Pac-Man hidden inside of the cabinet....
