Blizzard has cancelled plans to hold its traditional in-person BlizzCon convention for the second year running. The long-running event is usually held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California each November, but2020’s event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Blizzardannounced on Wednesday that hopes to bring the event back in 2021 have also been dashed by the “ongoing complexities and uncertainties of the pandemic”. Bungie and Sony are considering a $40 price tag for Marathon, it’s been claimed. That’s according to multiple sources talking toThe Game Post, who suggested the PvP extraction shooter’s launch price could match that of two other live service games recently published bySony. Capcom has reported the highest profits for the end of a third quarter in its history. Activision is granting early campaign access to those who pre-order the digital version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. According to the publisher, campaign early access will go live for digital pre-orders on October 20 – more than a week ahead of the game’s general release on October 28. “This grants you up to a week to complete the incredible multimission, single-player, globe-trotting operation before the full game launches on October 28,” it said....

EA Sports FC 25 topped September’s US software chart following a record launch, according to data from market research firm Circana. Evercade manufacturer Blaze Entertainment has announced a new partnership with SNK Corporation. The deal will see Blaze releasing officially licensed products “from the history of the Neo Geo video gaming system” in 2025 and 2026.
