Microsoft has acknowledged a shortage of Xbox controllers after many major retailers sold out completely this month. At the time of writing, major retailers in multiple regions are completely sold out ofXboxWirelessControllers, and the peripherals seem to be particularly scarce across Europe. In the UK, there are currently no controllers, in any colour, in stock at retailers GAME, Smyths, Argos, Currys or even the officialMicrosoftStore. AmazonUK isone of the few retailers with stock of the Carbon Black controller, which was newly added today (it was sold out yesterday)....

BioWare has confirmed that the next Dragon Age game is “still in early production”. The development update was provided in a new behind-the-scenes video released as part ofGamescomOpening Night Live. “We’re still in early production but we thought it was time to give you the very first look at howBioWare’s passionate team of developers are crafting this very special game,” the studio said. The video features insight from multiple developers, plus concept art and footage representing the game in development....

CI Games has revealed some new details about Lords of the Fallen 2, which is in full production at its Hexworks studio. The companyconfirmed in Junethat a sequel to Lords of the Fallen was in development forXbox Series X/S,PS5andPC. CI Games said at the time that it had signed a deal grantingEpic Gamesthe “exclusive worldwide distribution rights… on the PC platform for the entire product life cycle”. In a recent financial report, the company said it’s currently planning to reveal the game in 2025 and release it the following year....

Lost Judgment will contain a playable Sega Master System, new footage has revealed. Eight minutes of new gameplay footage was posted on Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s official YouTube channel (as seen in the video embedded above). At the 4-minute mark, the footage shows protagonist Takayuki Yagami in his office, where his pinball machine has been replaced by aSegaMaster System. It’s not yet clear how many games will be playable on the console, but the footage shows Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Penguin Land being played....

Newly released Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League footage shows the team taking down The Flash. The gameplay footage, which was included as part of today’sPlayStationState of Playpresentation, featured all four characters – Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang and Deadshot – working together to take down a large sentient artillery canon and dozens of reinforcements. Playable solo or with up to four players in online co-op, the game’s original story follows Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, who are on a mission to save Earth and kill the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, the Justice League....

A new collector’s label focused on physical editions of games has launched today. The label, which is simply called Editions, is the work of Lost in Cult and promises to “reinvent what it means to collect games”. Each title in the collection will be available in a limited edition run called Editions, as well as standard mass retail versions. The Editions versions of each game will contain an exclusive outer slipcase with original commissioned artwork and a variant cover for the retail case inside....

Nintendo has announced that plans to expand its game development capability are underway, part of which will include building a new office on the site of its old headquarters. Nikkeireports that the company will be embarking on two major office expansions in an attempt to create more games in-house, rather than outsourcing some development. In the first of these,Nintendowill be renting the 6th and 7th floors the Kyoto City Waterworks Bureau’s new government building from May 2022....

Nintendo has said it thinks it can meet Switch 2 demand in the United States through 2025. Following the console’s launch on Thursday, most major US retailers are currently out of stock online, although some still have in store availability. Speaking toCBS Mornings,Nintendoof America presidentDoug Bowsersaid the company will have “a steady supply” of Switch consoles making their way to retailers over the coming months. “We have a steady supply of manufacturing that will be coming in, and we believe we’ll be able to meet that demand all the way through the summer, through Father’s Day, and then on into the holiday period also....

Nintendo’s upcoming vehicular basketball game, Drag x Drive, is getting a free trial ahead of its full release. The original artist behind Star Fox has called on Nintendo to port the game’s Wii U instalment to Nintendo Switch. Takaya Imamura, who is the artist behind many classicNintendoseries including Starfox and F-Zero,left the company last year. Imamura is credited as having designed the Starfox characters Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi and more, as well as Captain Falcon from F-Zero and the cast of Majora’s Mask, including fan-favourite Tingle. Rare has announced that paid custom servers are coming to Sea of Thieves next year. Announced during the game’s first community direct, Custom Seas, the game’s private, paid servers will come toSea of Thievesin early 2026 according toRare. This feature will also give players access to exclusive tools, such as the cinematic camera used to make trailers for the game. Specific pricing information wasn’t shared, but Rare did concede that the feature is an expensive one to support, and thus will require a monthly fee....
