Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be the headline additions to the PlayStation Now line-up in January. Xbox has revealed a five-minute gameplay trailer for Clockwork Revolution. The game, which is described by developerInXile Entertainmentas a “time-bending steampunk first-person RPG”, will be released “in due time”. “Welcome to the Tangle, the slums of Avalon and home to you, Morgan Vanette, and your gang the Rotten Row Hooligans,” the game’s updated description reads. “After discovering that the ruthless Lady Ironwood has altered history – using time travel to enrich herself while keeping Avalon’s people poor and powerless – you’re thrust into an adventure across time to turn back the clock and right Ironwood’s wrongs – however you see fit....

Sega’s Judgment could be set for a live-action television spin-off. That’s according to a report by Japanese publicationNikkan Gendai– spotted byKotaku– which claims that actor Takuya Kimura plans to adapt the action-RPG series into a show for Asahi Television called “The Unjudged”. It’s also claimed that a live-action movie adaptation forJudgmentcould be in development alongside the TV project. Kimura is a recognised television actor and celebrity in Japan and appeared as theSegagame’s protagonist in both of its video game instalments....

Sony has announced June’s free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania will be free to download from Tuesday June 4. Normally priced at $59.99/£44.99, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection includes Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and all DLC for both titles. Released in 2017, 2D platformer Sonic Mania normally costs $19.99/£15.99. May’s PlayStation Plus games,What Remains of Edith Finchand Overcooked, will remain free to download until Monday June 3....

Konami is set to ramp up its premium game development with new instalments and remakes for its biggest franchises, including Metal Gear and Castlevania. That’s according to publishing sources who spoke to VGC anonymously, because they did not have permission to discuss their projects publicly. Konami’s premium games output has slowed down significantly in recent years. The last new Metal Gear game was 2018’s critically panned Metal Gear Survive, while the last mainline Castlevania release was 2014’s Lord of Shadow 2....

The Last of Us Part 1’s Firefly Edition is reportedly turning up damaged to some customers and Sony is so far declining to provide replacements. Priced at $99.99 and sold exclusively in the US viaPlayStation Direct, the first wave of pre-orders for the remake’s most expensive edition were snapped up in under an hour following the game’s announcement in June. Now, at the game’s launch, the special version is being delivered, however, multiple players are reporting that it’s arriving damaged, thanks to an alleged lack of protection in transit....

Microsoft has announced four more first-party games that will be optimised for Xbox Series X. Xbox OnetitlesSea of Thieves,Ori and the Will of the Wisps,Forza Horizon 4andGears Tacticswill all look and play better on the company’s next-gen console. Forza Horizon 4 will offer higher fidelity graphics and faster performance, in 4K Ultra HD at 60 frames per second, with reduced loading times and quick resume. So too will Gears Tactics, the turn-based strategy game coming toXboxconsoles later this year....

The launch issues that plagued Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 have now been fixed, the franchise boss says. The latest edition in the company’s flight sim series was released on November 19 and many players (including VGC) found themselves unable to get past an inital queue screen. Those who made it past the queue reported lengthy loading times that freeze at 97%, while those who mananged to get past that reported slow-loading assets and missing aircraft from their library....

Microsoft’s head of gaming has said titles don’t have to be on Xbox Game Pass to stand a chance of being successful on the company’s consoles. During aGDCchat with fellowXboxexec Sarah Bond,Phil Spencersaidhe’s frequently asked by developers whether it’s worthwhile releasing their products on Xbox if they’re not on Game Pass. “I also want to make clear to people that are out there that for us at Xbox, there’s not one business model that we think is going to win,” he said....

Artwork from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has appeared on Steam, suggesting that the series may be returning to Valve’s platform for the first time in five years. The art, which was first posted by Reddit userKalinine, shows Ghost from the game’s cover art in a banner which directs players to “explore the full franchise”. The artwork has since been removed.
