Romero Games, the studio founded by John and Brenda Romero that was thrust into the spotlight this week following Microsoft’s significant cuts, has denied it has closed its doors. The director of Like a Dragon developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio says he’s surprised at the initial sales pattern for the latest game in the series, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In an interview with4gamer(translated byAutomaton),Masayoshi Yokoyama– who was also executive director on Infinite Wealth and helped write the original story – says he didn’t expect the game to sell at such a fast rate from day one. Mario Kart Tour’s Holiday event will start on December 17 at 10pm PT, Nintendo has confirmed. The mobile racer’s third and final festive-themed event – following the Winter and London tours – will add special festive-themed skins for Yoshi and Pauline, as well as the Birdo character. The recently released Santa Mariowill continue to be available in Pipe uses until December 31. Microsoft has confirmed that it won’t have a presence on the show floor at E3 this year. The company has already announced that its digital ‘Games Showcase’ stream will take place on June 11, just two days before E3 opens its doors. According to a statement issued toIGN,Microsoftwill be co-streaming this presentation as part of E3. It will not, however, be following this up with a physical booth at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where E3 will be held this year for the first time in four years....
Microsoft could dramatically reduce Xbox digital store fees charged to developers, according to documents filed in the Epic Games vs Apple legal case. Microsoft expects Sony Interactive Entertainment to launch a PlayStation 5 Slim console later this year. In documents published as part of its legal battle with the US Federal Trade Commission, the companysaidit expects the new PS5 model to cost the same as the existing PS5 Digital Edition console, which is $100 less than the standard PS5. “PlayStationlikewise sells a less expensive Digital Edition for $399.99, and is expected to release aPlayStation 5Slim later this year at the same reduced price point,”Microsoftsaid....
