Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson was asked about the expected launch ofSwitch 2during an earnings call on Wednesday. 15 minutes of new gameplay from EA’s next Battlefield game has leaked. The gameplay, which originates from the ongoing closed testing of the game, shows the Rush game mode. Rush has appeared in multiple Battlefield games, and sees a team of attackers, who have a limited number of respawns, taking on a team of defenders, was they try to destroy objectives. Electronic Artshas confirmedit will release the next Battlefield game by March 2026, with a full public reveal due to take place this summer....

Blizzard is planning “more frequent major” World of Warcraft content launches over the coming years, beginning with its newly dated Shadowlands expansion. Capcom’s share price in Japan has dropped sharply following news that Monster Hunter Wilds sales appear to have lost momentum. CD Projekt has announced it’s working on a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, a new trilogy of Witcher games, Witcher spin-offs, and an original IP. The news comes via a broad overview ofCD Projekt’s development pipeline published on Tuesday, in which it revealed it intends to support three franchises going forwards;Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher and a new IP. The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel – codenamed ‘Project Orion’ – will be developed byCD Projekt RedNorth America, a new studio opening in Boston, USA, and “prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe”, the company said....

Several top ex-CD Projekt Red developers have unveiled a new game studio and teased a new project. A new Dead Island 2 gameplay showcase has shown off new gameplay, including how the player can use their infection to utilise zombie powers. The showcase, which also featured a live-action trailer for the game, showed off some of the new weapons included in the game, such as burning katanas. Players will be able to upgrade these weapons throughout their time with the game. The game, which takes place in California will see players visit Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Hollywood Hills....

Copenhagen-based Echo developer Ultra Ultra has shut down. In a post on itsTwitteraccount, the company – which was formed by former Io developers – said it was “grateful to have had the chance to crystallize something truly from the heart.” No reason was given for the closure.
