Microsoft has revealed that March’s Xbox system update includes fixes for “many of the controller disconnects” players have reported over the past four months.

According to a list of knownXbox Series X/Sissues, some users may have beenexperiencing“frequent disconnects” with the new wireless controller that launched alongside the consoles in November.

“The disconnect rate may be higher when using these controllers on an originalXbox Oneconsole,” according toMicrosoft.

On Wednesday the platform holderdetailed Xbox’s March 2021 system update, which is available now, in a blog post.

The update includes new toggles for FPS Boost and Auto HDR for backward compatible games, updates to theXboxAccessories app ahead of the launch of theXbox wireless headset, and the return of Achievements to the Xbox app, among other features.

Microsoft’s blog made no mention of fixes for controller disconnects, which were instead publicised in atweetby Xbox’s director of program management,Jason Ronald.

“In addition to the new features, this release also fixes many of the controller disconnects players have reported,” he wrote.

The new Xbox controller, which is compatible with consoles,PC, mobiles and tablets, loses connection in various circumstances, and for some people only when playing certain games, according to almost 3,200 users on an 89-pagethreadin Microsoft’s help forum.

Microsoft has also said it’s working on a fix for unresponsiveness someplayers are experiencing with the new Xbox controller.
