Xbox Series X/S will soon be able to boot up quicker, once a new feature being tested rolls out.
Xboxengineering lead Eden Marie confirmed over the weekend that the cold start-up time (i.e. the time it takes the console to boot up from a completely powered down status) was now quicker for Xbox Insider members.

“Someone asked me about this, and I’ll admit I had no clue, but I checked, and yes, the boot animation and cold startup time in general on Xbox Series X|S consoles has been shortened in the latest Insider builds,”she tweeted.
This was then confirmed by Xbox director of integrated marketing Josh Munsee, who stated that he had worked with two other staff members to help reduce the boot time by shortening the animation that plays when the console starts up.

“Can confirm – worked with @harrisonhoffman and @jakerose27 to create a shorter boot up animation (~4s) from the original boot up animation (~9s), helping to reduce the overall startup time,” he wrote.
This was thentested by Xbox news reporter Idle Sloth, who showed that the new boot animation is around four seconds long, compared to the nine-second animation currently being used.

Once the current Insider builds of the operating system have been fully tested they will then roll out to allXbox Series X/Sowners as part of a standard system update, which according to Idle Sloth will mean all users could have it “as early as August”.

Microsoftannounced last week that Insiders are also now able toconnect their Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One to Discordand use Discord voice chat directly from their console.
Microsoft said the update, which enables Discord users to connect across Xbox, mobile andPC, will roll out to more users over the coming weeks and be available to everyone soon.
