Xbox has added two new dynamic backgrounds for Xbox Series X and Series S owners to use for free.
The two new backgrounds are calledHalo Infinite: Courage and Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Detonation.
The new Halo Infinite background shows Master Chief in battle, as pink laser beams fly past him.
The Wasteland 3 background, meanwhile, is based on the Cult of the Holy Detonation DLC and shows the titular Holy Detonation, a nuclear explosion frozen in time.
The new themes can be found by going to the Personalisation menu in Settings, then choosing My Background then Dynamic Backgrounds.
The themes will be found near the end of the list, and can be previewed to show how the background moves. The background will continue to move if you set it as your home screen image.
This is the latest in a series of dynamic backgroundsXboxhas been adding in recent months. In May itadded the background from the original Xbox’s frontendas a dynamic theme.
It then added another dynamic theme in July, this time based on Xbox Game Pass, followed by a Halo Infinite one in August.
AnXbox 360 dynamic backgroundwas added two weeks ago, featuring the console’s trademark swirly circular pattern.
Players who buyMicrosoft’s limited edition 20th anniversary Xbox Series X/S controllerwill also unlock an exclusive 20th anniversary dynamic theme when they connect the controller to their console.
The 20th anniversary controller is the latest in a line of special edition coloured controllersMicrosofthas released since the launch of theXbox Series Xand S.
In August it announced that it was releasing aspecial edition Forza Horizon 5 controllermade of translucent bright yellow plastic. The following day, it then announced a newHalo-themed Xbox Elite Series 2 controllerinspired by Master Chief’s armour.
Earlier in August it also announced theAqua Shift Special Edition, which is available now at a price of $69.99 and comes in a special blue colour that gives off a ‘shimmering’ effect.
