Xbox has brought back its Design Lab service, which allows players to customise their own controllers.
The Design Lab was originally launched in 2016 so that players could create their ownXbox Onecontrollers.
The service was stopped in October 2020, however, withMicrosoftstating that it was “offline temporarily so that we can bring you some updates”.
Design Lab is now back today, and has been updated to supportXbox Series Xand S controllers.
The initial service offers 18 base colours to choose from, including three new colours that have been added specifically for Series X and S: Shock Blue, Pulse Red and Electric Volt.
Players can also customise the controller’s body, back, bumpers, triggers, D-pad, thumbsticks, ABXY buttons and View, Menu and Share buttons.
They can also have their controller laser-engraved with their Gamertag or any custom message up to 16 characters.
“Most of our colour options are made with plastics containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials by weight,” states senior director of strategy and business James Hunter in a post on theXbox Wire blog.
“These colour options will reduce the amount of waste plastic that ends up in landfills and ensure we are all doing our part to take care of the planet. We believe this work is critical and will continue to increase the amount of PCR that we use in our products.”
Players can customise and order their new controllers now on theXbox Design Lab website.
