World of Goo 2 will be released on July 27, 2025, it’s been announced.
Revealed in December, the sequel to 2008’s well-received World of Goo will be available forNintendo Switch,PC,MacandLinux.
According to its eShop listing, local co-operative play for the physics-based puzzle game will be exclusive to the Switch version.
“Explore a new story spanning hundreds of thousands of years and watch the world change,” reads an official description of the game.
“Use living liquid creatures to build bridges, grow towers, terraform terrain, and fuel flying machines. The world is beautiful, dangerous, and evolving.
“Every level is a realistic physics and fluid simulation. Build, splash, explode, destroy, fly, and roll your way through your own unique solutions to each level.”
Like the original World of Goo, which currently has a Metacritic score of 90, the sequel is being made by 2D Boy and Tomorrow Corporation.
A host of new Switch releases were announced today as part of the latestNintendo Directpartner showcase, includingPocket Card Jockey: Ride On!,Endless Ocean Luminous,Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, andXbox’s Pentiment and Grounded.
