Warner Bros. Games reportedly had big announcements scheduled for E3 2020 prior to the show’s cancellation.
Organiser theEntertainment Software Association(ESA) said on Wednesday that this year’s event would no longer be going ahead due to concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19), dashing Warner’s plans to reveal several major new games, according toKotaku.

It claims Warner had been lining up a trio of high-profile reveals for June’s event, where it was due to host an E3 press conference for the first time. These included a new Batman title, an open-world Harry potter game, and the next project from Arkham developerRocksteady Studios.
Announcing E3 2020’s cancellation, the ESA said: “We are also exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020.”

Following the news of the event’s cancellation,Xbox said it will hold a digital eventto replace its plans for the show, whileUbisoftalso said it will “explore” the option of a replacement digital event. Whether Warner does likewise remains to be seen.
The ongoing COVID-19 outbreak has led to the cancellation of several major video game events planned for the first half of 2020 including theGame Developers Conference,SXSWandBitSummit.
