Ubisoft may have added a teaser in Far Cry 6 that hints at a potential multiplayer game set in the Far Cry universe.

YouTuberJorRaptor, who has been playingFar Cry 6ahead of its official release, spotted a QR code printed on the side of a crate found early in the game.

Ubisoft may be teasing a new multiplayer Far Cry game in Far Cry 6

When this code is scanned with a mobile phone, it directs the player to a short six-second video showing a cartoon gun cylinder with a face.

The video briefly shows a shot of a map with three arrows on it, which JorRaptor theorises are supposed to represent players.

The map shows scenery similar to that inFar Cry4, and also shows animal tokens suggesting players will find specific animals in those areas.

There’s then a shot of a player being attacked by an armoured animal, followed by gunshots and blood splatters on the map, which replaces the player arrows with skull icons.

JorRaptor notes that the open-world sections of previous Far Cry games only supported two players, suggesting that the video is teasing either a new feature or perhaps a new multiplayer spin-off game.

Ubisoftstated in an earnings call in May that it plans to shift away from its traditional strategy of releasing 3-4 premium AAA titles each year, and instead plans to launch “high-end free-to-play” games for all its biggest franchises.
