Activision has officially dropped the online requirement for the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 – but only on Steam Deck.

Unlike console owners of the game,PCplayers have been required to have an internet connection since the title’s release on theEpic Games Storein September 2020.

Activisionreleased Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2for Steam earlier this month, with the same requirement.

However, the companysaidon Wednesday that it had released an update for the game that enablesSteamDeck users to play offline, as well as fixing the keyboard overlay for players onValve’s handheld.

The company didn’t explain why the online requirement had only been removed on Steam Deck, a decision which has left some Windows andLinuxusers frustrated.

However, players have reportedly identified aworkaroundthat enables all PC users to play the game offline, for the time being at least.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was originally released in September 2020 forPS4,Xbox Oneand PC, and it became the fastest entry in the series to sell one million copies, according to its publisher.
