The remake of Resident Evil 4 has enjoyed the second-best launch in the series’ history, according to Capcom.
The publisher has claimed that the game sold over 3 million units in its first two days, which if accurate makes it the second-fastest game in the series to hit that milestone.

The only game to sell faster was 2012’sResident Evil6, which shipped 4.5 million copies in two days – a company record which lasted untilMonster Hunter: Worldlaunched with 6 million units shipped in 2018.
In comparison with other recent releases in the series,Resident Evil Villageshipped 3 million units in four days, as did theResident Evil 2remake.

Resident Evil 7 shipped 2.5 million in four days, while theResident Evil 3remake managed 2 million in five days.
The Resident Evil 4 remake has launched so well, in fact, that it’s already outsold the lifetime sales of the original version on both theGameCube(1.6 million) andPS2(2 million).

Indeed, both versions combined took around a year to reach 3 million sales, something the remake has managed in a weekend.
The Resident Evil 4 remake was released onPS4,PS5,Xbox Series X/SandPClast Friday.

The game has enjoyedthe series’ largest Steam launch everby some margin, having attracted over 168,000 concurrent players.
