Activision has released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War video demonstrating the PC version’s Nvidia RTX ray tracing features.
Nvidia confirmed on Tuesday that the next Call of Duty title would support RTX ray tracing, as well as DLSS 2.0 and its Reflex low-latency technology. 2019’sModern Warfarealso supported RTX, but only for ray-traced shadows.
OnPlayStation 5andXbox Series X,Black Ops Cold Warwill also feature hardware-based ray-tracing, according toActivision.
OnPC, Cold War will also featureNvidia’s Ansel feature for its campaign, which will allow players to capture hi-res screenshots, and Nvidia Highlights in multiplayer, which will automatically record and save kill streaks and key moments.
On Tuesday Nvidia unveiled its latest PC graphics cards,the GeForce RTX 30 series, which it claimed can deliver up to twice the performance of its previous generation GPUs.
“With the GeForce RTX 30 Series, we’ve been able to expand our ability to realistically immerse players into our game world with the integration of ray tracing features,” said Mark Gordon, co-studio head atTreyarch, in a prepared statement.
“We’re also excited about the introduction of Nvidia DLSS, which will level up performance. We look forward to continuing our commitment to Call of Duty PC players everywhere.”
Cold War is described as“the direct sequel to the original” Black Opsand is set for release on PC, current and next-gen consoles on November 13.
