The long-anticipated PS5 remake of The Last of Us has been officially confirmed via a listing on Sony’s PlayStation Direct store and a leaked trailer, which is viewable below.

UPDATE:Naughty Dog has officially announced its The Last of Us PS5 remake.

The game will be released for PS5 on July 10, 2025, and the trailer confirms it’s in development forPCtoo.
Bloombergfirst reported last April thata remake of 2013’s PS3 game The Last of Us was in the works for PS5.
It claimed the project was originally in development atPlayStation’s Visual Arts Service Group before the studio was switched to a support role on the game.
The remake’s development is now being led by series creatorNaughty Dog, which is said to have taken charge of the project following the completion of The Last of Us Part 2, which was released in June 2020.
It was first claimed in January that theLast of Us remakewas nearly finished andcould be released for PS5 in the second half of 2022, and VGC had also heard from our own sources that the game was nearing completion.
