The release date of CD Projekt Red’s highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed by two months to November 19.

It marks a second delay for the game this year, after it slipped from itsoriginally targeted April release to September.

“Those of you who are familiar with the way we make games know that we won’t ship something which is not ready,”CD Projektco-founderMarcin Iwińskiand head of studioAdam Badowskisaid in a joint statement released on Thursday.

UPDATE:In a conference call discussing the news in further detail, CD Projekt said the game’s delay will alsopush back the release of Cyberpunk 2077 DLC expansions and multiplayer, while the company intends to releasethe “proper, full-blown next-gen version” of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2021– and it will be free for bothXbox OneandPS4owners of the game.

“But with such an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs. A huge world means a huge number of things to iron out and we will spend the additional time doing exactly that.”

Following a switch to remote working, CD Projekt presidentAdam Kiciński said in Aprilthat the company remained on track to hit the game’s previously targeted September release for current-gen consoles andPC.

CD Projekt also intends to release a “proper, full-blown next-gen version” ofCyberpunk 2077 for Xbox Series X and PS5, but it won’t be a launch game.
