Enhance has announced Tetris Effect Connected, a multiplayer expansion to the music-themed puzzle game set for release in Holiday 2020.
Connected will be released as an ‘ultimate version’ of the original game onXbox Series X,Xbox One,PCand Game Pass. Owners of the original game onPS4and theEpic Games Storewill receive it as a free update in summer 2021.
The expansion introduces new co-op, competitive online & local multiplayer modes.
In the new Connected mode, up to three players can connect their Tetris playfields together and play as one, and work together to take down a series of increasingly-challenging CPU-controlled bosses.
The new Zone Battle shakes up traditional 1-on-1 Tetris versus gameplay via the time-stopping Zone mechanic made famous inTetris Effect.
