Following months of speculation, Electronic Arts has officially announced Star Wars Jedi: Survivor with a teaser trailer, which is viewable below.
Due for release in 2023 forPS5,Xbox Series X/SandPC, the game is the sequel to developerRespawn’sStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The third person, narrative-driven action-adventure title picks up five years after the events of the hit 2019 release.
Accompanied by his trusty sidekick BD-1, protagonist Cal Kestis, one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy, must acquire new skills and grow his connection with the Force to stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit.

Fallen Order game directorStig Asmussen, who wasGod of War3 creative director atSony Santa Monicabefore joining Respawn, is again leading development of the sequel.

“Even before completing Jedi: Fallen Order, our team had a vision of how to carry the adventure for Cal, BD, and the crew into the sequel,” said Asmussen.
“For Jedi: Survivor, we are working in lockstep with Lucasfilm Games to build on the legacy of Jedi: Fallen Order. We’re leveraging advanced technology to create more dynamic Jedi combat and cinematic storytelling to expand on Cal’s story as he matures and survives during the dark times.

“We can’t wait to share more about the game with the world later this year.”

EA announced a Fallen Order sequelin January, along with two other Star Wars projects in development at Respawn. While there have been multipleStar Wars Jedi: Survivor leaks in recent months, details about the game were officially kept under wraps until today.
Respawn is also working on a new Star Wars first-person shooter helmed by former LucasArts veteran and Medal of Honor co-creator Peter Hirschmann. He previously worked on the original Star Wars Battlefront games and The Force Unleashed, and more recently directed 2020 VR title Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

Respawn’s third Star Wars project is a strategy game developed through a production collaboration with Bit Reactor, which is a new studio formed by veterans of XCOM and Civilization studioFiraxis Games.
