Stalker 2 developer GSC Game World has released a “major patch” for the game, featuring more than 1,700 fixes and improvements.

The Version 1.2 patch is described as “a massive one, with over 1700 improvements and fixes to all aspects of the game – balance, locations, quests, blockers, crashes, performance, more A-Life 2.0 fixes, you name it.”

“This work wouldn’t have been possible without your feedback and comments on your personal experience with the Zone”, the studio said in a statement. “Thanks for sharing it here onSteam, Reddit, Discord, and other socials.”

The patch includes fixes for more than 120 issues with AI, numerous balancing tweaks and over 100 improvements implemented in optimisation and elsewhere “under the hood”.

More than 300 quest issues have been addressed within the game’s main story, while more than 150 “anomalies” have been fixed in side missions and other enemy encounters.

It also includes more than 30 fixes for The Zone, more than 70 bug fixes for player gear and player state, more than 130 fixes for player guidance and game settings and over 450 environmental improvements.

Numerous tweaks and fixes were also made to cutscenes, voiceover, localisation, sound and music. The full list of patch notes can be found on the officialStalker 2 website.

The patch has also been followed by a smallerVersion 1.2.1 patch, which addresses some issues players were having with crashes when loading save files.

VGC’sStalker 2 reviewsaid the game’s “countless bugs and massive tech issues take the shine off” the game.

“Stalker 2could be a great game in a few years, but what’s presented at launch is a technical mess that doesn’t capitalise on its best ideas,” we wrote. “Compelling side stories and a brilliant setting do a lot of the heavy lifting, but at launch Stalker 2 isn’t an adventure we’d fully recommend embarking on.”
