GSC Game World appears to have resumed development on Stalker 2, following Russia’s invasion of its home country Ukraine.

In March, GSC Game World announced that the development of the shooter had beenput on hold due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.It was reported later in March that the development team was moving fromKyiv to Prague.

Now, speaking on the game’s officialDiscordchannel (as spotted by Polish siteGRYOnline), one of the company’s developers responded to a fan asking if development had resumed by saying: “It continues”.

Stalker 2was officially due for release in December, however, due to the current war in Ukraine, development on the project has understandably stalled.

GSC Game World posted a video on its YouTube channel in early March in whichit confirmed that the development of Stalker 2 had been put on holdas it dealt with the ongoing Russian invasion of its home country.

“On the 24th of February, Russia declared war on Ukraine and sent rockets, tanks and soldiers to our homeland,” it said. “Our country is forced to fight for existence again. Seems like this is the price of freedom.”

Earlier this year, the official website for Stalker 2 was blocked inRussia at the request of the Russian government.
