Insomniac Games has released new details about Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered, following the game’s announcement for PlayStation 5 last week.
DuringSony’s recentPS5showcase, it was revealed that the $70/£70Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Editionwill include a download code for a remastered version ofPS4gameMarvel’s Spider-Man, including all three instalments of the The City That Never Sleeps DLC.

Providing further details via its social media channels following the game’s announcement, Insomniac hassaidthere are currently “no plans” to release Spider-Man: Remastered physically for PS5.
Additionally, itsaidplayers will have to restart the title on PS5 as “saves won’t transfer from the original game to the Remaster.”

Currently the only way to get Spider-Man: Remastered is to purchase Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.
Sony hasn’t confirmed if players will be able to play the remastered game on PS5 if they already own Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4, via a free or paid upgrade, although Insomniac has suggested that news on alternative ways to access the updated game may be on the horizon.

We’ll provide more info on that as soon as we can but we have thought about that scenario!
UPDATE:Sony has said that players who purchase the standard edition of Miles Morales will be able topay an additional $20 feeto receive the Ultimate version which includes the remaster.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES:Insomniac Gamescommunity director James Stevenson told thePlayStation Blogthat Spider-Man Remastered “is no simple up-res, as many of the game’s art assets have been completely updated to take advantage of the PS5 console’s horsepower”.
He elaborated: “You’ll see better-looking characters with improved skin, eyes, hair, and facial animation (including our new, next-generation Peter Parker). You’ll also see ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows, improved lighting, more pedestrians and vehicles stretching further into the distance, and the same optional performance mode offered onMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, allowing you to finally play the game at a targeted 60fps frame rate.

“We’ll be supporting near-instant loading, 3D audio, and the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback. Lastly we’re adding three amazing new Spider-Man suits, new photo mode features, and even new trophies for those of you looking toPlatinumthe game all over again.”
Morales is one of three games previously thought to be PS5 exclusives that Sony recently confirmed will also be released for PS4,including Horizon Forbidden West and Sackboy A Big Adventure.
