PlayStation 5 has now sold through to consumers more than 30 million units, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced.

The sales milestone was shared during a CES showcase on Wednesday, and means that PS5 has now shipped to retailers (which is the data it usually shares) at least 10.7 million units duringSony’s current fiscal year, which ends on June 29, 2025.

Typically, shipped figures are higher than sold-through numbers.

SIE’s shipped sales target for the year is 18 million units – a figureit stuck byin its most recent sales results published in November – and it now has just under three months to find the up to 7.3 million units to achieve it (though the real number required is likely less).

Speaking during Wednesday’s CES showcase, SIE presidentJim Ryanclaimed that December was PS5’s biggest sales month yet, and that increased availability means more consumers can now purchase one.

Sony previously said it would aim to ship 23 millionPlayStation 5consoles in its next fiscal year, which begins April 2023, which would put the console ahead ofPS4during the same stage of its lifecycle.

The electronics giant shipped 3.3 million PS5 units during the three months ended July 13, 2025 (FY2022 Q2), it said in November, which is the exact same figure it managed during the same period last year.

Speaking during an earnings call at the time, Sony said PS5 sales were going according to plan and that it believed it could still achieve its 18 million sales target. The company manufactured 6.5 million consoles during Q2, it claimed.
