Sony has revealed a small list of PlayStation 4 games which are not playable on PlayStation 5.

In a newly-published backward compatibility section of thePlayStationsupport website, 10 games arelistedas only playable onPS4.

They are DWVR, Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2, Just Deal With It!, Robinson: The Journey, We Sing, Hitman Go: Definitive Edition, Shadwen, and Joe’s Diner.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES:WhileSonysays “the overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 games are playable on PS5 consoles,” it notes that “some functionalities that were available on the PS4 console may not be available on PS5 consoles” and “some PS4 games may exhibit errors or unexpected behavior” when played on the next-gen system.

It advises users to test the games on PS5 before purchasing any add-on content, in case of undesirable results.

Sony says transferring PS4 saves to PS5 ‘is a developer decision and will vary title by title’

“Select PS4 games will benefit from thePS5 console’s Game Boost, which may make PS4 games run with a higher or smoother frame rate,” it adds.

Ghost of Tsushimawill utilise PS5 Game Boostto support frame rates up to 60fps.

While PS5 games are not compatible with the DualShock 4 controller, supported PS4 games will be playable using DualShock 4, PS5’s DualSense controller, and officially licensed third-party controllers.

Speciality peripherals, the PS Move MotionController and the PS VR Aim Controller will also work with supported games on PS5 consoles.

Sony has explainedhow game transfers and game saves work between PS4 and PS5. Transferring PS4 saves to the PS5 version of the same game is down to individual developers, meaning the ability to do so will vary title by title.

Sony recently confirmed thatPS5 won’t be backward compatible with PS1, PS2 or PS3 games.
