Bokeh Game Studio has published a new trailer for Slitterhead, offering an in-depth look at the game’s possession system.
The trailer, which can be viewed below, featuresBokehCEO and the creator ofSlitterheadKeiichiro Toyamadiscussing the game’s setting. The game, which was first revealed duringThe Game Awardsin 2021, is set in mid-’90s Japan.

“The core mechanic of this game is one word: possession,” said Toyama.
“I don’t think this has been done before, but the main character is a spiritual lifeform without a physical body. It can only act once it borrows the body of a human.

“By taking advantage of this feature, you change hosts one after another, resulting in such actions as moving through the city at high speed, or at times, abandoning the host’s body for your own survival.”
Slitterhead will be released forXbox Series X/S,PlayStation 4,PlayStation 5, andPCviaSteamand theEpic Games Storeon November 8.

Earlier this year, VGCspoke to Toyama about his time at PlayStation Studios, and his hopes for his first first release under Bokeh.
“WithSony, there was an increasing motive to make more highly budgeted games, and it wanted to go that way with theJapan Studiobrand,” Toyama told VGC.

“My motive was always to create original games. I feel I can do this without a massive budget. This allows me to express myself as well. By going independent, this has allowed me to do that. From my time at Sony, I feel like I’m accomplishing what I want to do.”
In December 2020, Toyama leftPlayStationtoform Bokeh Game StudioalongsideJunya Okura, lead designer on the Gravity Rush series, and Kazunobu Sato, lead designer ofPS3exclusive Puppeteer.
