The Silent Hill 2 remake will be a PlayStation console exclusive for at least one year, it’s been revealed.
According to the game’s latesttrailer, it will be “not available on other formats until 19-05-2025.”

While this doesn’t confirm the game, which will be released next month onPlayStationandPC, will come toXboxon that date, this does confirm that the current exclusivity period is planned for one year.
Similar messages have previously appeared on trailers for theFinal Fantasy 7 Remakegames, and while they did appear on PC following that period, they have yet to appear on Xbox.

The newSilent Hilltrailer shows off how the game plans to use the PS5 DualSense controller to provide haptic feedback to the player. The game will also support 3D audio and adaptive triggers onPlayStation 5.
TheSilent Hill 2remake is released on October 8 for PS5 and PC.

VGC’s recentSilent Hill 2 hands-on previewsaid the game is reminiscent ofCapcom‘s recent remakes of itsResident Evilgames.
“Crucially, for the health of the series, Silent Hill 2 feels like it’ll be exactly the kind of shot in the arm that will bring the series back into vogue,” we wrote.

“The Resident Evil remake comparisons will likely be inescapable, but is that a bad thing when Capcom’s latest efforts have been just as genre-defining for modern survival horrors as both Resident Evil and Silent Hill were in the genre’s nascent days?”
