PlayStation VR 2 looks set to impress based on unrevealed specs reportedly seen by Digital Foundry.

In the tech site’s latest DF Direct Weekly video (below), technology editor Richard Leadbetter seemingly referencesPSVR 2 details leaked in May, before claiming to have seen even more impressive specs forSony’s upcoming headset.

“One thing I think that is kind of heartening is that Sony is doing PSVR 2 for thePlayStation 5,”he said.

“We’ve seen some leaked specs and it looks good. We’ve seen some other specs which haven’t been leaked which make it look even better.

“So, hopefully VR will be able to expand, there will be more choice in the headset arena, and also I’m quite looking forward to seeing what this new Sony controller is about,” Leadbetter added.

UPDATE 05/08/21:NewPlayStationVR 2 headset and controller details have reportedly leaked via a developer conference. It’s also claimedSony wants to focus on “console-quality AAA titles” for PSVR 2.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES:According to multipleUploadVRsources, PSVR 2 will offer a resolution of 4000×2080 pixels (2000×2040 per eye).

It will also include gaze tracking capable of foveated rendering, a lens separation adjustment dial, and a vibration motor allowing developers to provide direct haptic feedback, Sony has reportedly informed partners.
