Warner Bros. has reportedly delayed the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to next year.
Previously scheduled for release this year, the game will now arrive in 2023, according toBloombergsources said to be familiar with its development.
Developed by Batman: Arkham series creatorRocksteady Studios, thePS5,Xbox Series X/SandPCgame is billed as a “genre-bending action-adventure shooter” set in an open-world Metropolis.
Playable solo or with up to four players in online co-op, its original story follows Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, who are on a mission to save Earth and kill the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League.
Suicide Squad was announced alongsideGotham Knightsat 2020’s DC Fandome eventand itsfirst gameplay trailerwas released in December.
Warner Bros.recently reiterated plans torelease Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy this year.

In a tweet last week, Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar said the company intends to deliver “a full slate of highly anticipated games” this year, accompanied by images of both titles.
Gotham Knights andHogwarts Legacywere both originally planned for release in 2021, before being delayed to this year.
Last month, Warner Bros. also announced a delayed Aprilrelease date for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
