Roaring Moonlocation: Where to catchRoaring Moonin Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Make your way all the way down to the bottom of the Great Crater, just before you enter the large cave that is directly outside the last research station you need to visit.
Head toward the left of the cave opening, until you’ve gone under a hanging rock formation, and look for the tree in the image above. (Girafarig optional).

There’s a very different rock formation with a small opening. Head through it.
Once you’re through the rock formation, head towards the waterfall. Once you’re in the grassy area ou

Roaring Moon will then begin to spawn. Thankfully, there are a few of them in here, so it’s not like you need to make sure that you nail the catch straight away. It’s one of the strongest Pokemon in the game, and if you’ve got a friend with Pokemon Violet, it’s the perfectPokemon to trade for Iron Valiant.
Shiny Roaring Moon
Roaring Moon Shiny form can be found in the same area, however, like all shiny Pokemon, it’s very rare. There are some ways that you may increase the rate at which shiny Pokemon spawn, and thanks to Roaring Moon’s unique typing, there are ways you can manipulate the spawn rate of Roaring Moon’s shiny form.

Shiny Roaring Moon: Isolated encounter Roaring Moon
One of the most effective ways to hunt shiny Roaring Moon is by using the isolated encounter method.
The isolated encounter method is a shiny hunting method that is one of the most effective in the game. By forcing the game to exclusively spawn Pokemon of a certain type, the isolated encounter method means that you can enter Roaring Moon’s cave, make a Dragon-type shiny sandwich, and the game will then exclusively spawn that type of Pokemon.

While Roaring Moon can’t be exclusively hunted using the isolated encounter method because Zwelious, another Dragon-type spawns in the same cave, this does mean you’re able to limit the number of species that appear to just those types, making the hunt easier. Zwelious is also a very popular shiny Pokemon so it’s a solid double hunt, should you be looking for both.
