Riot Games has officially revealed Valorant, the tactical shooter formerly known as Project A.
The 5v5 character-based FPS will be released forPCthis summer and is shown off in a new alpha gameplay video, which was captured from an internal developer playtest, at the top of this page.

The game is billed as “tactical shooter meets hypernatural powers” on its newly launchedwebsite.
“Shooting inValorantis precise, consequential, and highly-lethal – we want you to win on your skill and strategy alone,” it says.

“Everyone’s got guns and a unique set of abilities, so how do you beat someone with the speed of wind? Use your own moves to outplay them and beat them to the shot.
“Valorant is a game for bold strategists who dare to make the unexpected play, because if it wins, it works.”

Riot says Valorant players will benefit from 128-tick servers and a global spread of datacenters targeting under 35ms of ping in major cities.
Most minimum spec computers will play Valorant at 30 frames per second, while modern rigs will offer 60-144 FPS.

League of Legendsmaker Riot first announced it was working on a tactical shooterin October 2019.
Riot’sAnna Donlonsaid at the time: “It’s competitive, it has precise gunplay, it’s set on a beautiful near future earth and it has a lethal cast of characters, each with their own unique abilities. This is our take on a competitive shooter.

“We promise that just like League, we’re in this for years and years to come. With Project A, we’re staying true to the high consequence gameplay of tac shooters, but we want to evolve the space, we want a tac shooter with more creativity, more expression and a lot more style. In Project A, your abilities create amazing tactical opportunities for your gunplay to shine.”
Project A was announced alongside several other new titlesduring aRiot Gameslivestream celebrating the 10th anniversary of League of Legends.

They includedLeague of Legends: Wild Riftfor console and mobile, strategy card game Legends of Runeterra, fighting game Project L, and Project F, a title which will let players to explore League’s world of Runeterra together.
