PUBG Corporation has launched cross platform play for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

PUBG cross-play support for consoleswas announced atGamescomin August and first made available in late September via the game’s public test server.

Now widely available through PUBG update 4.3, it enables players on both systems to enter the same matchmaking pool and go face-to-face in the battle royale game.

The update also introduces a new progression system called Survival Mastery, a fresh care package weapon in the form of the double-barrelled, pump-action DBS shotgun, plus a host of other changes and bug fixes which are detailed in thepatch notes.

PUBG Lite, a free-to-play, low-spec adaptation ofPlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,is launching in 52 new countries across Europe and the Middle East on October 10.

The game has been in open beta since January 2019 when it launched in Thailand, before being rolled out to other countries and regions throughout the year.

In addition to PUBG’s standard 100-player battle royale mode, PUBG Lite includes a new 4v4 mode in which two teams fight to reach 40 eliminations in a warehouse surrounded by shipping containers and vehicles.
