Microsoft has announced a Psychonauts 2 release date of August 03, 2025.
The launch date was confirmed alongside the release of a new gameplay trailer for the platform-adventure title.
Psychonauts will be released forXbox Series X/S,Xbox One,PCandPS4.
Developed byDouble Fine Productions, the title was originally scheduled to release in the fourth quarter of 2019, but it wasdelayedonseveral occasions.
The sequel to 2005’s Psychonauts was revealed atThe Game Awardsin 2015, with Double Fine going on to raise over $3.8 million on crowdfunding platform Fig to help develop the title for PC,Mac,Linux, PS4 and Xbox One.Psychonauts 2will now also be optimised for Xbox Series X/S.
Microsoftannounced at theXboxE3 briefing in June 2019 thatit had acquired the San Francisco-based studiobehind Brutal Legend and Broken Age, along with the publishing rights to Psychonauts 2, although Double Fine was quick to assure fansit would honour backers of the game on all platforms.
