Ubisoft has officially announced Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Jun 08, 2025.
The remake is being developed by the publisher’s Indian studiosUbisoftPune and Ubisoft Mumbai. During Ubisoft’s Forward event on Thursday, the firm billed the title as its “first ever remake,” with rebuilt visuals, combat and camera mechanics.
“Camera, controls, and combat have been completely rebuilt and updated for today’s standards,” Ubisoft said onthe game’s official website, with players able to choose between “the original or modernized mapping.”
“Fight new enemy character models and enjoy entirely new cinematic sequences along with enhanced voices, sounds, parkour animations, and soundtrack,” it added.
“Unlock Prince of Persia, the original game from 1989 (’92Macversion), along your adventure then access it from main menu whenever you want. And more surprises await!”
Yuri Lowenthal, the voice of the Prince from the original 2003 game, will reprise his role for the remake.
The Prince of Persia series hasn’t seen a full instalment since 2010’s The Forgotten Sands. In 2018 Ubisoft released a mobile spin-off, Escape, but otherwise the series has been superseded byAssassin’s Creed, a franchise which itself started life as a Prince of Persia spin-off.
