PlayStation 5 could release in October, according to a job listing.
So farPlayStationhas not committed to a more specific release date for PS5 than “holiday 2020”.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES:An October launch would represent a break from the norm for PlayStation, as virtually all recent home console launches have taken place in the peak holiday season of mid-to-late November.
A prominent journalist recently claimed Sony wasplanning to unveil its PlayStation 5 plans on Thursday, June 4.
Sources hadpreviously told VGCthat Sony was planning to hold its significant PlayStation 5 reveal event in May, but that those dates could potentially slip a few weeks into June.
SIE has had to constantly readjust its plans for the year due to disruption caused by the coronavirus, includingshifting the release dates of major PS4 exclusives. However, the platform holder has recentlyreiterated its intention to launch PS5 at the end of the year.
The cancellation of this year’s E3 showis understood to have caused games publishers to spread their marketing plans more broadly across the 2020 calendar.
Sony may touch on its PS5 plans when it reports its full-year earnings this Wednesday, or during a corporate strategy meeting taking place on May 19.
